Job description

As an Audio Visual Estimator, you will support the sales and projects staff in developing designs and engineering solutions for sales opportunities, as well as keep product information and pricing accurate and up-to-date.

Duties & Responsibilities Include:

  • Assist sales team by attending and keeping detailed notes for site walkthroughs and pre-bid meetings
  • Communicate effectively with customers regarding their project requirements and budget
  • Act as liaison between sales and installation team when the project is turned over, as well as monitor and ensure sales price and installation costs coincide
  • Work with company preferred vendors and products to find the best solutions, most competitive price, and proper lead-time on materials
  • Provide complete project engineering, selection of applicable materials, and estimating labor based on industry standard
  • Provide detailed drawings of the project as estimated to assist the prewire and installation teams, as well as accompany the proposal when presenting to the customer
  • Write scope of work and develop cost estimate in response to bid specifications
  • Meet bid schedules and deadlines, sometimes within a very strict timeframe
  • Track and update assigned project timelines to help ensure deadlines are met
  • Attend training on company preferred products and stay up to date with new technologies
  • Attend turnover and demonstration meetings as required to cover all details and expectations of the project as estimated
  • Develop client relationships

Requirements:

  • Must be self-motivated, able to multi-task, and have a high quality of performance under pressure
  • Must promote company culture and mission to all employees, vendors, clients, and business partners
  • Must possess proven problem-solving and critical thinking skills and the ability to effectively read, write, and give oral presentations
  • Must have a valid drivers license and meet company minimum driving standards
  • Must be willing and ready to learn
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and other project documentation is a plus
  • Previous experience or training in AV, construction, or related field is a plus

 

Job Type: Full-time

Expected hours: 40 per week (no remote work)
